igubal rod ends are corrosion-free and can be used in harsh environments without any problems. They are resistant to weak acids and alkalis in damp or wet environments. Like all igus products, our rod ends are lubrication-free and also significantly cheaper than comparable metallic solutions.

With their tribological specifications, our plastic-rod ends fulfil the highest requirements for a long service life without additional lubrication. To achieve this quality, we carry out over 135 trillion test movements a year in our 250 m² plain bearing test laboratory. We test and develop materials for our rod ends under real conditions with the aim of delivering the best plastic solution for your application.

The polymer rod ends are optimised for use in motion and their specifications open up new scope in design. The tests focuses on push/pull forces, coefficient of friction, wear as well as abrasion and drive force under different speeds and loads of the bearing.

Lubrication-free plastic-metal hybrids for higher loads

The igubal rod end 2.0 represents an innovative development in the field of lubrication-free bearing technology. Our rod ends combine the maintenance-free and self-lubricating igus technology with the strength and breaking resistance of a metal housing.

Thanks to the modular principle, these rod ends can realise specific requirements: from the classic version with an iglidur J inner ring and the FDA-compliant version with an iglidur A181 inner ring, to the version with an iglidur G inner ring for alternating loads or the iglidur X inner ring, which withstands extreme temperatures ranging from -100 to 250 °C. In addition, other iglidur materials can also be realised on enquiry to meet special requirements.

Our plastic-metal hybrid solution is specially designed for high loads and offers exceptional performance in demanding applications. The metal components ensure high breaking strength and robustness, making the igubal rod end 2.0 a reliable choice for applications with high static tensile and axial loads.

The igubal rod end 2.0 is available in shaft diameters of 6, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 20 and with both normal and fine threads, left-hand and right-hand threads as well as internal and male threads.
