Successfully used in film and camera technology

Three camera robots are suspended from the ceiling of the tagesschau studio and realise camera flights with smooth movements and maximum precision. Smooth running, low vibration and wear resistance are the main requirements for the energy chain to guide the extensive cable packages. E6 chains and chainflex® control cables are used.

The Trackrunner from Rail & Tracking Systems is a professional camera sled for fast movements that is used in sports competitions and TV shows. The company relies on energy chains from the E6 series for the safe guidance of the cables, which can easily cope with high accelerations even in outdoor areas at high temperatures.

For the bearing and drive of the turntable, a solution was sought that was as light and compact as possible and required only a few components. A high mechanical load capacity with low speed was also required. The choice fell on lightweight and vibration-damping iglidur ® PRT slewing ring bearings.

Special clamps made from the glide-optimised 3D print filament iglidur® i151 ensure that the motorised microscope camera system moves stably and precisely in the ultra-precise deposition printer from XTPL.

In order to take astronomical photos, the earth's rotation must be compensated for. This is made possible by a special device from vhw Digitalart, which can rotate 360 degrees in exactly 24 hours. The gears and brackets for the motor and electronics were manufactured from the tribofilament® iglidur® i150 using 3D printing.

With Glidetrack's camera slider, the bearings were unevenly loaded when cameras were mounted with their centre of gravity far outside the bearing axis. The result: tilting of the bearing and loud rattling. The solution: drylin® WJRM hybrid bearings, which ensure much better running. In addition, vertical and horizontal overhead movements are now also possible.

Gibellini was looking for a suitable linear guide for the focus adjustment of its professional large-format cameras. They chose the lubrication-free drylin® W system, which enables millimetre-precise focusing without the use of a gear rack. The customer appreciates the smooth, fluid sliding movement.

In the EZFX jib, iglidur ® G plain bearings replace the bronze bushings previously used. They are lighter, cheaper and require no additional lubrication thanks to their dry running, so that maintenance is no longer required.

For clean signal transmission and due to their robustness, the camera manufacturer IDS recommends our chainflex® USB cable to its customers, which can be used up to a length of 10 metres.
