PH1280 Tile Stinger

• What was needed: An innovative machine for field drainage that could manoeuvre plastic drainage tiles on site and unroll plastic tiles alongside trenching and ploughing equipment
• Requirements: Absolutely no lubrication and maintenance, ability to withstand hot, humid and icy but also very dirty environments, long service life, suitability for a wide range of temperatures
• Products used: dryspin® high helix lead screws made of stainless steel, dryspin® high helix lead screw nut, drylin® E DC motor and motor coupling
• Success for the customer: The PH1280 is a system that is assembled on a three-point coupling and can move large rolls of plastic drainage sheets on the construction site, as well as roll out the plastic sheets next to the trenching and ploughing machines. This device consists of a round turntable with a centre column and an upper guide rod frame. Hypro has developed a collapsible upper guide rail frame that retracts into the centre column. This collapsible frame uses an igus high-speed lead screw and lead screw nut to realise this innovative, time-saving solution

Field drainages are machines designed for agricultural field drainage. They must withstand both hot and humid conditions, but also ice and snow. The pace of work on construction sites is fast and efficient processes are implemented as far as possible. A machine failure that causes delays is unacceptable.Previously conducted tests with an ACME thread, proved to be too slow.

The dryspin® high helix lead screw made of stainless steel in combination with the dryspin® flange nut ensures smooth operation, which allows the collapsible frame to be folded inside the centre column. The centre column is not easy to access for lubrication and the installed igus® products do not require external grease. The following igus® products are currently being tested: DC motor, drylin E motor coupling, dryspin® high helix lead screw nut, dryspin® high helix lead screw made of stainless steel.
